Counselling for Teens
Being a teenager can come with a lot of pressure. School, friendships, family, identity, relationships, and figuring out who you are can sometimes feel like a lot to carry.
Our approach to counselling with teens is warm, collaborative, and relationship-focused. We understand that a teen needs to feel comfortable and respected before they can truly open up. We take time to build trust, listen without judgment, and create a space where teens can talk openly about what they're experiencing. Counselling is collaborative, meaning we work with each teen to understand what matters to them and identify goals that feel meaningful to them.
We may support teens who are experiencing:
Anxiety, worry, or feeling overwhelmed
Depression, low mood, or changes in motivation
Low self-esteem, confidence, or self-worth
School stress, academic pressure, or difficulty adjusting
Friendship challenges, social pressures, or feeling left out
Family conflict or changes at home
Relationship and dating concerns
Grief and loss
Trauma or difficult experiences
Anger, emotional regulation, or difficulty managing strong emotions
Stress and difficulty coping with everyday challenges
Identity, self-discovery, and navigating changes
Difficulty communicating feelings or asking for support
Our goal isn't to tell teens how they should feel or what they should do. Instead, we provide a space where they can feel heard, develop a better understanding of themselves, and build the skills and confidence to navigate life's challenges.
We also recognize that reaching out for counselling is a personal decision. Whether a teen is coming because they have identified a concern themselves or because a parent or caregiver has noticed that they're struggling, we work to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration.
You don't have to have everything figured out. This is a space to be heard, understood, and supported as you find your way.
